I believe this was the trainer version of the P80 Shooting Star. I'm not that familiar with jet types as I am with the ww2 warbirds. This was shot at the Chino Air Show 2015 as it was traveling down the runway before it took off.

You are correct the T-33 was essentially a training variant of the P-80. It was slightly longer to incorporate the second seat. The Canadians also used them under the name Canadair CT-133 Silver Star
